expecting to have sleeve but my surgeon said my hiatal herni is bigger thN he expected, also having gallbladder out at surgery. And we will talk in a couple weeks, I asked a couple questions but he said it wouldn't be fair to discuss with me under sedation, I don't remover questions lol. I'm wondering if I have to switch to bypass, which I was on fence in the first place. Any thoughts??

I had been pretty set on the sleeve when I first went in for my appointments. After tests though, I was found to have a hiatal hernia, severe acid reflux, and Barrett's, so I'm no longer a sleeve candidate. Was change to RNY.

I'd suggest finding out what your acid reflux status is, because the sleeve can make it much worse. And some people who've never had acid reflux started having it after their sleeve. The only real fix for that then is to have a sleeve-to-RNY revision.

Ditto for me as well... Barretts required me to have RNY and I'm thrilled with the results so far.

You could be ME. I had all those issues and although I already knew I wanted RNY, all the issues were taken care of with the surgery. I too had my gallbladder out at same time. I've never felt more healthy in my life. I don't pop TUMS constantly and don't have the constant pain and nausea.
